I found Ms. Gittens through my high school band director who highly recommended that I take private lessons from her. Ms. Gittens visited my high school a few times to do some flute workshops and I always liked her personality and her teaching methods. I decided to give her a try in my junior year of high school. I have so many fond memories of my time with Ms. Gittens but if I had to choose a favorite, I would say it was when she helped me finally over come my stage fright/performance anxiety. Once I conquered that fear, I became a much stronger musician and overall a more confident person. Now, as a music major in college, I am able to preform in front of faculty and peers confidently and all the lessons she taught me are still with me today.
